Upgrade to a Bride's Maid!

Manic Monday ~ Rambling Plus Shopping – For Your Bod and For Your Kitchen

So…. who’s off today for Columbus Day? Yeah me neither.  But to be fair I rarely give myself a day off, and I will take that freedom over a government job any day! <– That is my mantra all day while my mom shops, my dad and brother go fishing, and countless other people sleep in.

Hey I want to hear from all the people that got married or went to a wedding this weekend! There were sooooo many because of 10/10/10!  I knew of three, personally, plus a vow renewal.  It was fantastic weather here in MD this weekend so I’m sure they were all beautiful!  I’m a little bummed about the warm weather though…. it’s not very October-like, and makes it hard to keep one wardrobe in the closet.

Oh, oh, oh, I have to tell you guys this too:  the website redesign is harrrrrrrrrrd.  I was so excited to get started and now I’m completely overwhelmed! Still excited, though.  My designer is beyond amazing and I am grateful to her, both for the “beyond amazing” part and for being so patient with me.  So tell me – is there anything you would like to see on the site (colors, categories, ANYTHING in particular?) or anything that would make you run screaming? I mostly babble at her in run-on sentences and hope she can pull something from that! I guess we’ll all find out soon enough…

This whole past weekend was super busy and I didn’t get to go shopping like I wanted to! How about if we do it together now, whether you’re off today or not? OK good.  Let’s start with wedding dresses we wish we were wearing right this second ~ by the one and only Sarah Seven:

I’m also madly in love with this Valentino dress from the Spring 2010 line:
{See, I’m a little behind on my shopping…}

Which celebrity do you think wore it best?
{My answer later – I don’t want to sway your opinion 😉 }

{Olivia Palermo, Zoe Saldana, Jessica Seinfeld}

Here’s a  great item to add to your registry! These are mini slow-cookers from Proctor Silex, perfect size for a newlywed household.  Plus, they are only $15 so would make a great hostess or housewarming gift.

Have you done your registry yet?  While fun, it can also be a huge undertaking so be sure to eat lunch first and wear comfortable shoes! It’s a good idea to make a little list of things you need or want (in general terms, i.e. “dishes”, “wine glasses”, “pizza pan”) so you don’t get sidetracked.

And do not be afraid to register for anything and everything you want! Now is the time! Think that $300 trash can is a bit ridic? So. What.  You don’t know what your guests are willing to spend on you, and maybe your co-workers will decide to go in on a gift in order to get you something really nice!
If you have done your registry ~ tell/show me your favorite thing on it!

Have you bought anything interesting lately, for your wedding or otherwise? Please share!  The other thing I wanted to do this weekend besides shop was catch up on all the TV shows I’m desperately behind on – True Blood, Dexter, and Boardwalk Empire.  I wish I could run them while I’m asleep and catch up through osmosis! *Sigh*

    Gorgeous taste as always. Those dresses are to die for!
    From someone who just got done with the hard stuff…I feel ya. I made sure to stay away from music. Polls say music is not good for brides and internet gazers who mostly try to do it at work 😉

  2. I love that dress with the newspaper looking wallpaper. So cute!

    Have I bought anything recently for the wedding or otherwise? I’ve gotten a ton of things on etsy: street signs, place cards, RP’s ring…
